STELLENBOSCH MUSEUM

 

Village Museum:

An exhibition of the pre-colonial history, information on the founder of Stellenbosch as well as an interactive timeline of the people of Stellenbosch from 1679 to the year 2000. It also consists of four period houses each depicting the way in which people lived, dressed and the architectural development for the period 1709 to 1880. The dwellings are on the exact place it was built decades ago.

Toy Museum:

Housed in the old Rhenish Missionary Parsonage. On display is a splendid collection of antique dolls, dolls’ house furniture and other old toys. Amongst the most popular displays are the miniature rooms with finely detailed furniture and fittings all built in 1:12 scale. The splendid exhibition of Dinky Toys and lifelike miniature of the Blue Train will fascinate both young and old.
